Choosing the right colour aluminium pool fence

October 11, 2016 By DIYPoolFencing

Choosing the right colour for your aluminium pool fence or front fence can make or break an outdoor area. Many of our customers are unsure which colour to use on their fence and there are a few factors to consider.

The most obvious consideration is whether you want to match existing colours that are used on your property. A common approach is to match the colour of your aluminium fence with the colours of your guttering, downpipes and / or roofing.

Depending on the way your house is styled your roof and guttering may already be the same colour, or in some instances the guttering and downpipes are a different colour to the roof. Using the approach of matching colours used on your home will allow you to keep a consistent feel and will make it look like your fence was a part of the original build.

Choosing the right colour aluminium pool fence
Mid grey colours can be discreet and classy.

Whilst it is common to match the fence with the guttering or other accent colours, many customers choose black as the colour of their aluminium panels. This is particularly popular with aluminium pool fencing. Whilst black may seem like a bold colour to choose it is actually the colour that is most likely to blend into the surroundings, making the fence less intrusive when viewing the pool and outdoor area.

Heritage green is another colour that is likely to blend into the surroundings as it matches the colour of grass and trees. Mid grey colours also are a popular choice on the discreet side.

When choosing your colour you should also consider the style of fence you are installing. A flat top panel is the most discreet design and will compliment the decision to choose a discreet colour such as satin black or heritage green.

Other designs such as spear top which are more of a statement style of fence and may be more suited to brighter colours.

Ultimately, when you choose your aluminium fence panel colour you need to decide on something that you’re comfortable with and is in keeping with the vision you have for your property.

Australian Made versus Imported Chinese Pool Fencing

May 31, 2016 By DIYPoolFencing

We recently had a customer ask us what the difference was between our products and the product from one of our competitors. Many of our competitors import their aluminium pool fencing on the cheap from China and it can be difficult for a consumer to know the difference in quality.

Quality Control

At DIY Pool Fencing, we manufacture all of our aluminium fencing within Australia at our Yatala head office. We adhere to strict quality control methods to ensure our fencing is made to stand the test of time.

Chinese manufacturers cannot really be held accountable for their product like Australian manufacturers can. As a result they are able to cut corners on a number of manufacturing processes. The engineering and welding is often of poor quality. In addition we have witnessed imported products that have used a substandard pre-treatment process and cheap powder for the powder coating. It is common for the powder coat on these panels to flake off, sometimes within a few months.

Below are some pictures from our powder coating company, South East Qld Powder Coating Pty Ltd showing some stages in the aluminium powder coating process.

Supporting Local Economy

By buying locally made pool fencing you are helping to support Australian workers and their families. We could manufacture our product in China but we have made a conscious decision to support Australia’s ever diminishing manufacturing industry. When you buy your pool fence panels via DIY Pool Fencing you are helping to support local powder coating and aluminium supply companies.

After Sales Service and Support

We stand by the quality of our product and we are always available to assist customers if they have ongoing questions or for some reason encounter any issues. The same cannot be said for those imported products that will result in little to no support after purchase is made.
